The River is muddy
Not much to do with the current conditions the river is high and muddy. In between rain fall and river surges I have been having a blast fly fishin for half pound steelhead. Mostly hatchery fish but a few natives, they have been ranging between 8" to 16" which can be pretty exciting on a 9' #4 rod. The winter run of big fish aren't quite here yet but they should be here soon. I have been out on several drifts on the Upper Rogue River doing runs between the hatchery and Touvelle State Park. These trips have produced some nice take downs to no avail and a number of small steelhead. The when the fishin is slow the duck/goose hunting has been great. If you haven't tried the blast and cast yet I strongly recomend it. There is still a little time left this season. Happy Fishin
